It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and, if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might get swept off to. J.R.R. Tolkien
These are my writings and photos from my travels out and about around the United Kingdom and beyond.
I'm starting work on my first contract shortly, so in preparation of working a distance away I headed out to scout the route and stopped off in Stourhead Gardens for a walk and some photography in the frost.
Way back, while sat in a pub drinking scrumpy, me and my brother-in-law Rob came up with a hair-brained plan to do a motorbike tour around Scotland. We decided on early October to avoid the midges, caravans and tourists and with two weeks to go, we set about getting the actual plan in motion.
An afternoon trip to South Wales to catch up with friends now he's out of the hospital, and an opportunity to look around the surrounding area.
A long day on the road visiting friends in Manchester and North Wales, after a very heavy night out with new work friends. Good job I wasn't driving today!
In a sudden and unexpected change to the day's planned events, my brother in law and myself headed down to Brean and did a spot of fishing off Brean Down.
Late on a cold Friday night, my sister, brother-in-law and I squeezed into the Land Rover to begin a long trip up to Manchester to see some friends for the weekend and have an early Xmas celebration. Over the weekend we spent a day out exploring the Peak District in the snow.
A fine family day out at Dartmoor Zoological Park to visit our adopted Tiger and to see some of the other big cats which provided an opportunity to get close to the animals for some good photographic shots.
My brother-in-law has been on at me about going fishing for some time now. With good weather and ideal tides, we decided to go this weekend to fish off of Brean beach.
