My New Toy! A Kawasaki VN800!!
Picking up my new Kawasaki VN800, a long day on the road, this time in a hired Transit van heading to the South East, Hastings, in particular, to pick up my new motorbike ready for when I pass my test later this month.

The bike is a 1996 Kawasaki VN800 custom with Highway Hawk loud pipes, Highway Hawk custom dragbars, grips and risers. It also has bullet style rear indicators and a re-sculptured and re-covered seat. With 55bhp and 46 ft lbs of torques, this bike isn't fast for an 800cc, but it's more than enough for my first big bike. I just can't wait to pass my test now!
While we were in the neighbourhood we took a slight detour to Battle, the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, now marked by Battle Abbey. They abbey was built in 1070 by William the Conqueror on the order of Pope Alexander II as penance for killing so many people during the conquest of England.
