Our trip to the Dudley Zoological Gardens, which is a 40-acre zoo located within the grounds of Dudley Castle in the town of Dudley, in the Black Country.

Dudley Zoological Gardens is not only home to a large collection of endangered species, but also an 11th-century castle. Some of the zoo exhibits are housed inside the castle and give visitors an insight as to the kinds of animals which would have naturally lived in the castle, such as rodents, bats, spiders and insects.

The zoo has most of the stereotypical zoo animals but lacks the larger mammals like elephants, but they do have lots of big cats, a very good reptile house and some very friendly Lorikeets!
