Visiting Xtreme Automobiles to see their new X1 Concept car which has the same engine and running gear of the Mitsubishi Evo 9.

Xtreme Automobiles have been developing a new 2-seat coupe, the X1 Concept, which delivers 350-500bhp from a turbocharged 2-litre engine normally found in the Mitsubishi Evo 9, and the same 4-wheel drive running gear.

The proposed new sportscar from West Midlands-based Xtreme Automobiles is made from Carbon Fibre with an aluminium subframe and suspension. That means the road car only weighs 1180Kg with the track day car coming in at 1000 kg. Today we popped up to Dudley to the Xtreme showroom to have a look...

PRESS RELEASE: We are delighted to announce that our X Works Automotive Concept X1 Sportscar will be available for viewing in our Xtreme showroom from Friday 19th January 2007 until Sunday 21st January, opening times will be Friday / Saturday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm and Sunday 11.00 am - 4.00 pm. The car has been developed over the last 30 months by X-Works Automotive with Xtreme Automobiles Ltd being the first dealer appointed in the UK. The X1 Concept Car uses a unique carbon composite technology for the manufacture of the car's passenger cell. Attached to this are lightweight aluminium and carbon subframes carrying the drivetrain components.
