Spicy Scrambled Egg Sandwich - Cure for the Common Cold!

By Tim Trott, 1st July 2009 in Cooking

My cure for the common cold, since I have one in the middle of a heatwave in the UK with temperatures rising to 30°C upwards.

Heatwave's in the UK are different to the heat in the Mediterranean because our houses are built to keep the heat in, so they act like an oven and do not cool down - not even at night. Also, we lack the cool marble floors, little to no air conditioning and suffer from a very wet sticky and humid heat.

None of which is helping my asthmatic chest to breath, what with my nose all stuffed up. I can only breath through my mouth which makes my throat dry and sore.

At the moment I am drinking Lemsips and eating lots of Chilli! So here is my cure for the common cold!

Spicy Scrambled Egg Sandwich Ingredients

  • 2 Slices of Bread
  • 2 Free-range Eggs
  • Drop of Milk
  • Lots of Chilli

Instructions

  1. Bung all ingredients (except the bread) into a saucepan and scramble the egg. Add enough chilli so that the egg turns orangey red.
  2. Put scrambled egg in a sandwich.
  3. Enjoy breathing for a few minutes.

I find another good spicy food for clearing the nose is a Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle.

Anybody else have any tips for curing the common cold? Please share!
