Photos from Leith, Edinburgh, as today is my last day working in Edinburgh. I now have a few days off and start a new job in Glasgow next week.
I have been finding the commute to Edinburgh just too taxing each day, with a 20 minute drive to the railway station, 40 minutes on the train, get off, 45 minutes on another train then a 15 minute bus trip! I leave at 6.30am and don't get home till gone 7.30pm, often closer to 8. If the trains are late, I miss the connecting train, which makes me 40 minutes late waiting for the next.
Glasgow on the other hand is 20 minutes to the railway station and 58 minutes on the train and I'm in work! Much better
So here are some photos from Leith where I have worked for the past 8 months. Leith is located on the Firth of Forth in south east Scotland. It was for many centuries Scotland’s premier port, and today is still a busy port handling over 1.5 million tonnes of cargo a year. In 1833 it became a separate burgh with its own Town Council. It became part of the City of Edinburgh in 1920.
