The sheep races celebrates Moffat’s sheep farming and centuries old woollen industry and the event is made possible thanks to local shepherds.

In 2014, the knitted jockeys & racing sheep return to Moffat for another fantastic day of racing in the second annual Moffat Sheep Races! At midday, the little knitted jockeys were strapped on tight to the sheeps' backs before they were sent charging down the High Street over a series of hurdles and dash over a finish line.
