Fitting Terrafirma Wheel Spacers - Widen Stance of DefenderFitting Terrafirma Wheel Spacers to my Defender to give it an additional 60mm track, which should improve handling, cornering and stability.
The Terrafirma Wheel Spacers should also increase the steering lock due to increased distances. The Terrafirma wheel spacers are easy to install, simply bolt them to the original studs and the wheel bolts to the new studs on the spacer. They have definitely improved steering, handling, and stability and they also look good as well. By adjusting the lock stop nuts the steering lock has also significantly improved.
Terrafirma Wheel Spacers are milled from a solid aluminium billet and feature a spigot ring to help centre the wheel when fitting. They may be expensive, but they are worth it.
With rough winter weather on the horizon I thought it would be a good idea to get new tires to go on my Defender, something capable in snow, and this seemed like a good time. I went with the Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires as they have really good reviews and my brother-in-law has used them in the past and really highly regards them. Although in short supply at the moment, I was able to get a set from Black Circles at a very good price.
I've also fitted some Terrafirma bumperettes on the rear to help protect the aluminium body corners which can get damaged really easily. I found a bargain on eBay and got the pair ex-display for less than half the price of a new set. They were fitted really easily once the old bolts had been removed, a process which took most of the day.
Starting to look like a proper Land Rover now!
