First Moffat Astronomy Photos

By , Saturday 21st February 2015 in My Observation Logs

It's been a while since I've been out under the stars, but tonight I took out my camera and photographed some of the stars and the moon from my own dark sky area for Moffat Astronomy.

I only had my photography camera tonight and was holding it by hand, but I was still able to get some good photos from my back garden just outside Moffat. These two are of the Moon and Venus with a tree in silhouette.

Hopefully this is the start of many more Moffat Astronomy photography, now that I have found my own little dark sky area, free from light pollution!

Moffat is good for Astronomy due to it's rural location and the local council have replaced all the street lighting with the new energy efficient, dark sky friendly LED lighting.
